When you’re traveling for work, Illumina provides benefits that help protect your health, safety, and peace of mind at no cost to you.

GeoBlue Global Traveler Insurance

When you travel outside your home country on business, Illumina provides emergency medical and dental insurance through GeoBlue’s Blue Cross Global Traveler program.

The Basics

GeoBlue’s Blue Cross Global Traveler covers emergency care only, not routine services or ongoing treatment.

You also get 24/7/365 access to Global TeleMD, which provides unlimited doctor consultations via telephone or video from anywhere in the world.

Before you travel:

  • Pre-register on the GeoBlue Member Hub. 
  • Download the mobile app.
  • Plan ahead for any prescription medication or health needs while abroad.

On the member hub and mobile app, you can:

  • Access your electronic ID card
  • Access your Certificate of Insurance for details on your benefits
  • Arrange direct payment to your provider
  • Access global health and safety tools including medical term translators, medicine equivalents tool, news and safety information
  • Submit claims

Business Travel Accident Insurance

The plan pays a benefit to you or your eligible dependents in the event of an injury or accidental loss of life while traveling on company business. You are covered as an employee when traveling on business inside or outside your home country.

BTA applies to business travel only.

What it pays

The benefit amount is two times your annual base pay with a minimum of $250,000 and a maximum of $1,000,000. BTA pays a percentage of the benefit amount based on the covered loss.
